We love beer, we thank heaven. Begrudgingly, we admit we are not the authority on all things "beer," but we know our fair share. Enjoy the good brew with us; correct us where we're wrong.

I have two bottles for the same reason. I think it will age well also. You know how it goes, sometimes a beer is just so much better on tap.

I was lucky enough to attend the release party in NYC (http://www.simplybeer.com/blog/2009/11/18/dogfish-head-sierra-nevada-life-limb-beer-dinner/) where we had it out of a cask. I was very impressed by the beer, but I have not had it out of the bottle yet. I have 2 bottles that I've decided to hold, b/c I think this beer is going to age very well. I enjoyed the flavors, especially with a German Chocolate Cake, but did think the the alcohol was a bit hot.

I was also impressed the Sierra would go out on a "limb" with DFH and this beer.

I personally think it meshed well as a brew and didn't feel the ingredients struggled. It simply wasn't as good as I expected. The Port brew sounds good.

When I tried this it seemed a bit of a tug of war between DFH and SN. I still liked it but I think they have such different styles that smashing them together seems to create 2 beers in one glass as opposed to 1 collaborative brew such as Hot Rocks from Port and Bend Brewing.

I gave it what the beer required. I've long said that my preferences shouldn't stop me from rating a beer well.

Seems like a really good beer, but perhaps the surrounding hype is a bit much though. You gave it a heck of a good rating there.

That might be the biggest evidence that DFH was involved in the process. The hops were extremely subdued. April will hold no shortage of beer.

Nice review Mike. I need to look around for it; I'm sure Kahn's will get some in. I'm surprised it isn't very hoppy, with Sierra Nevada involved in the process. By the way, I think Popskull is incredible. Hopefully, I can have some in April.
