We’ve had our site store up for quite some time and haven’t said too much about it.  There a couple of reasons that we don’t always pander our product.  First off, it is simply annoying to be solicited on a site that you enjoy.  Second, we don’t want anyone to believe the site is about money.  Would we like to make some money through our writing?  Sure!  Who can blame someone for being okay with making money at something he/she does? But I digress.

This site is not about generating millions of dollars (that is subsidiary to our purpose), it’s about beer enjoyment and education.  I want to stress that Cafe Press (the company that prints our shirts to order) does not give us a ton of the money for our t-shirt sales…we make about $2-3 a shirt, maybe.  You can pick up a shirt for as little as $10.99.  The money that the store generates does give us some money toward the yearly expense of the site, which is minimal (now over $100.00/year). What your buying a t-shirt really does is give us support.  We know that we have some fans out there.  But more than anything, people see you in your sweet-looking thankheavenforbeer t-shirt and you get to tell them the story.  They like the shirt, so they get on the site.  Don’t let anyone ever tell you that word of mouth is not powerful. Twitter, Facebook, and all these other internet “places” are virtual word of mouth…but I’m kind of an old-fashioned fool who believes real-life word of mouth and relationships are better.

You are our readers.  If not for you, we would cease to have any fuel for the fire of writing.  You are real life thankheavenforbeer envoys (and not the useless government bureaucratic type; the useful type).  So my challenge is to spread the word, buy a shirt, leave a comment or whatever else you can do.  March out into an unsuspecting world manteled in your glorious thankheavenforbeer garb converting the heathen beer drinker into a real beer drinker.  Give us some more fuel for this fire of ours.  Visit our store.
