We love beer, we thank heaven. Begrudgingly, we admit we are not the authority on all things "beer," but we know our fair share. Enjoy the good brew with us; correct us where we're wrong.

That's a cool story. You're not the first person from Canada to say a similar thing about this particular beer. I always find it odd when I can't get something that is brewed right here while other people, who are further away, can. At least you can get it now. Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

So I tried this a while ago while traveling for work. Ironically I had to leave Alberta and head to Texas to try it. I haven't had a lot of luck getting anyone in my one horse Alberta town to stock it but Houston Texas is a great hookup. There is a small bar in downtown called the "Canadian". Go figure I was there watching some playoff hockey, and some guy beside me ordered a bottle. An odd glance by me and he asked the barkeep for a second glass. We sat there the rest of the night trying to figure out how we never ran into each other before since we grew up about 20kms from each other. Strange things beer will do to a person. As for the Brew. I never go to Houston (9-12 time per year) with having a "Terrible" night.

"cbjerrisgaard : Brewery Creek can thank you for the harassment they are about to receive."

i know BCreek has carried the standard Unibroues but know nothing about Terrible..
at least that's what they tell me everytime i ask for it...

last spring the bc liquor board did carry Terrible for a short time but now you have to special order it through them. that is as long as it's still being brewed

i heard someone speaking nonsense that it was discontinued but i put no stock in such conjecture.... since on Unibroue's site it looks to be actively brewed.

Well, Trader Joe's is a grocery store, that has it's own line of things, including beers (brewed by someone else). Great store for natural food, eccentric food folks out there AND at a reasonable price.

But since you live in Ohio, here's an idea of where you'd have to go. :-)

@Big Tex: I've not had Trader Joe's...I have a lot to look out for! I used to despise highly spiced beer, but now I look for them. I can't wait for Oktoberfest season, and then the winter seasonals!

@ Nate... I caught the Michael Jackson pun. Good stuff!

I have not seen Terrible in the stores yet, but then again, I haven't been looking. A couple years back, I was able to sample a Trader Joe's holiday beer, made by the folks at Unibroue. As it was a holiday special brew, I detected a higher level of spices. Ok, I guess. I was none too impressed. In fact, it didn't seem to measure up to what Unibroue typically offers. C'est la vie...

@cbjerrisgaard: Bummer! geographically, I am closer Quebec, so that may have something to do with it.

@Simply Beer: I haven't tried the Chose. If they carried it around here it would have been my first choice too. Thanks for liking the title...I thought it might rope a few folks in.

@beer_scientist: Sapporo acquired Sleeman in '06...crazy corporate mergers and takeovers!

@David: Thanks! I snuck in Michael Jackson (the musician) as a subtle pun for beer drinkers (like me) who admire The Other Michael Jackson.
