We love beer, we thank heaven. Begrudgingly, we admit we are not the authority on all things "beer," but we know our fair share. Enjoy the good brew with us; correct us where we're wrong.

That's exactly what I was going for...that tastes change over time. Mike, your a true beer geek for going after a beer that once left a bad taste in your mouth!

You never know...tastes change over time. I think that's what Nate was getting at when he was saying something about beginning beer drinking. I'm sure you like stuff now that you didn't like a couple of years ago.

I had Old Stock from North Coast when I first got started in trying bigger beers and it felt like I was drinking rubbing alcohol. I couldn't finish the entire thing. I guess I should give another old ale a try to see if there is a difference now.

I agree with a lot of the review. I think that the piney/grapefruity hops were pretty evident. My only notes added would be some caramel tones, which makes sense with your brandy comments. As strange as it sounds, some cherry fruits that reminded me of the way that fruit roll-ups smell. I was pleasantly surprised by this one and plan on cellaring a few, too.
