Just a really brief note: our site just turned two years-old. I know that I speak for both Nate and myself when I say we are really proud about this auspicious occasion. There are several reasons why I am so glad about having had a site for two years. First off, I think it has really pushed me to learn more about beer and become a slightly better writer.
As I look back, I realize what I didn’t know then. I also realize that there is still much I need to learn. Some of the early posts are fairly weak on substance or pretty incomplete. Some of the early posts are in need of serious revision, but I’m not going to change them. Why? I think it reveals a journey. So, my thought is to leave the old style series (just as an example) up but to write a new post that will be more informative than that old one. My wife Andrea reminded me that one of the things about our site that people seemed to enjoy was how informative it is. Well, I’m going to do my part to make sure that it stays that way.
Be on the look out for the new posts and a link to the old ones. I’m personally excited to see what I said before and to see how I’ve corrected it now…and perhaps how I will correct it in the future.
Congrats, boys ….
Your site was the first beer site I really latched on to. I still find it incredibly informative and I dig how many articles you guys present about beer-related (and sometimes not related) topics.
Keep up the excellent work!
Mike:
I might be headed your way the end of Sept. Maybe we can share a beer together.

If I’m here, I would love nothing more than to sip a brew together. I’ll be gone from Sept 22 to the early pm on the 26th. Otherwise, I will do anything I can to be available for a brew. I can send you home with some stuff.

Congrats. I love reading, and re-reading, the posts on THfB. You have given insights into things I havent thought of, and allowed for great conversation in your pieces. Thanks!

I think there will be, Mike. I know that you had your second not long ago (Jim and Don had their first). It’s fun sorta growing up together.

I gotta get cracking and start posting as frequently as I did at the launch two years ago!

Congrats on keeping the flame lit for two years guys. Don and I just hit a year and it seems like we’ve been at it forever. I’m sure two years is just like that, only double.
Glad you guys are still plugging away – keep up the good work!

Thanks Jim. We are trying to keep at it and I’m finding that my interests have changed pretty drastically in two years time.

wow, congrats guys. You got me thinking, when did I start? Turns out we must have started at the same time. My first post was Sept 2rd 2008. I’ve been so wrapped in so many projects that it completely slipped my mind. Belated celebration????

That’s cool thinking that we started near the same time. I think about what has happened in two years and it’s amazing to look at all the learning and experience.

Way to hang in there guys! A lot of water runs under the bridge in two years. Good job keeping it fresh and interesting over that time!

Thanks, Don. I can’t definitely be a challenge sometimes. I still love writing for the site, so I guess things are going okay.

Belated Happy 2 Years! Keep up the great work, and yeah, it is cool to kind of grow up together. Still, Jim and Don will always be like the litttle brothers that TBC, MLB, THFB, and Simply Beer can pick on!

Another belated happy birthday guys! Love your posts which are always unique compared to the thousands of others that are posted by beer bloggers each month. Keep it up. Here’s to many more THFB birthdays.
