If the sun must cloak itself in a tenebrous and depressing shroud of cloud, the lush green vegetation must fade to brown, and the temperature must drop to bone shattering lows, then at least we can extract some joy from the Christmas seasonal beers that are now replacing the proliferation of pumpkin ales on the shelves of our beer stores.
As I pine for warmer days, this Saturday, the Eve of my 30th birthday, I know my weary and cold soul will be warmed by the company of my wife, friends, and a big bottle of dark and alcoholic beer; Delirium Noel. This brew by Brouwerij Huyghe, the completion of their Delirium trilogy, is sure to please with it’s bold an peppery flavor.
As you slip into a sweet sleep, it is sure to replace thoughts of sugar plum fairies with psychadelic illusions of flying pink elephants.
While Delirium Noel should be an easy find this year, let us know if encounter any difficulty, or just pick another Christmas beer and we will post your review.
Cheers!
Love Delirium Nocturnum (my favorite) & Tremens….I will definitely pick up a bottle of Noel. I’m excited!

Good choice! They had it at the Verdugo here in LA but I tried the St. Bernardus Christmas offering instead.

Cool Kirk. Send some feedback our way. I’m hoping Sean is in too. Either way, we’re having a blast with this.

I love me some Delirium. First tried their stuff last winter and fell in love with the first sip.

I hope you get to pick it up and sip with us. We’d love your interaction too, Travis.

It’s good stuff…I love how they experiment with blending yeast.
If any of you guys pick some up and write a review, we’ll link to you blogs in the post!

Happy early birthday, Nate. I myself hit 33 this Saturday. I figure it’s a good time to sample me some Delirium.

I will pick up a bottle and send off my thoughts.

Seriously bummed…Crown Liquors in Avon doesn’t have Noel I’ll have to check back in a week or so to see if they have it in stock. Picked up a bottle of Nocturnum and a four pack of Sam Adams Imperial Series Double Bock. Enjoy your Noel everybody!

I shared the Noel amongst two other friends. I thought it was good but not great overall. The head was pretty spare and it was what I called a light whiskey color. Had the funky Belgian yeast taste and smell to it. But then the alcohol and sweetness kick in. Actually somewhat mild and very drinkable. No alcohol harshness. I would give it a B+. I tend to prefer porter styles for Christmas drinking.

Sorry you missed it Kirk. If you get up by Kahn’s in Indianapolis, they probably have it. Nocturnum is a good choice. Let us know what you think of that Double Bock, we have a review of it up. Personally, the Imperial White is my favorite.

Cool Sean, I think when we have the review up, I’ll cut and paste your comments on it.
