We love beer, we thank heaven. Begrudgingly, we admit we are not the authority on all things "beer," but we know our fair share. Enjoy the good brew with us; correct us where we're wrong.

Thanks for posting on the site. I'm a fan of some Avery stuff...DugnaA included. My wife's bitter beer face was once as pronounced as your wife's. However, she won't readily let an IPA (or any beer for that matter) slide by without a thorough inspection.

Hope you try the Maharajah at some point...very nice. I'm sure Nate might have some thoughts as well. Thanks again for leaving a comment.

I have not had the Maharajah, and don't think I have as refined a palate as the author, but I am sampling a DugnaA, and I find it to be wonderful! Bitter, with a citrus bite, fine & fizzy, but not thick, with a delightfully sweet wine scent. This is my first Avery, and I am having a fantastic time drinking this beer; I would highly recommend it. It got an 8.5 on the wife's-bitter-beer-face scale, with a bonus 9 for hang-time (she said "I still feel it here," indicating a spot near the lymph glands in her neck).

This is the second time I've seen these two paired head to head, with the same result. The question I have is being armed with this information what reason would someone have for trying the DuganA? Is there something unique about it that would warrant a purchase when the other is available?

Maharaja is one of my all-time fave imp. IPAs. I've had more than I can count, over the last couple of years.

Had the DuganA on tap last week and enjoyed it as well. Unfortunately, it was after I had about 4 other amazing craft beers, so it wasn't as memorable. Next time, I'll make sure to start off with the DuganA to give it a fair shake.

Either way, both are exceptionally brewed beers that I will continue to purchase and enjoy.
