I mean, BAM!, in your face aroma. And then bottled, the aroma is rather subdued. In fact, the smoked porter comes off more like a porter in a bottle than when on tap. Personally, I think it's much better than their normal IPA. Mouth-feel and body are the two things that are an improvement over the IPA. As to your high ABVism. I think I've done this a lot when I brewed. However, being an ABV guy, you can miss a lot of great beers. I myself have really broken away from the high ABV as a pre-requisite because I felt I was missing a ton of good beers. That's just me personally...but that doesn't mean that I won't buy beers like Black Tuesday. It’s good. Personally, I think it’s much better than their normal IPA.
