We love beer, we thank heaven. Begrudgingly, we admit we are not the authority on all things "beer," but we know our fair share. Enjoy the good brew with us; correct us where we're wrong.

You are talking to a recovering addict. Please don't give me any more ideas. The rabbit hole only gets deeper and weirder the more you get into this stuff. Of course, there are a lot worse things to be obsessed about (and not any better that I can think of).

I too have a growing pile of beer bottle caps. Heck I even keep the cork and wirecages from those 750ml beer bottles too. Every so often I take them out and turn them all face up and take some pictures of them in no particular order. Sometimes it will simply remind me of all the great beer I've had. I've turned a couple of pics into my PC screensaver just for fun. Try it sometime. Taking photos is yet another way to spread the addiction further.

Nice point, Scott. Sometimes symbols, like a beer cap, are significant.

@Sean. Are you ready for that battle? I'm kidding, of course, but it does help to have an understanding wife.

I thought it was weird of me to collect the bottle caps until I went to Saraveza in Portland. All of their tables have the caps under glass in cool patterns. Now if I can convince my wife, I just might do the same.

Harmless fun and I think that their ability to spark a memory is good enough. Same reason people buy souvenirs when on vacation or whatever. Its amazing what cool things you otherwise forget unless sparked by something as seemingly insignificant as a beer cap. Makes them quite significant actually.

I'm not sure I had a collecting obsession, but thanks to this post I do. I feel strangely compelled to start collecting trophy caps myself. I have the bucket picked out already.

What do you do with beer corks? I'm gonna throw them in, too. Maybe my bottlecap suit of armor will float!

@cbjerricgaard: I have thought about that...when we move if the house is big enough, it is a major option!

@Sandra: i doubt you saw my latest Craigslist posting: http://toledo.craigslist.org/bar/1422662013.html Looks like sexy bedroom wear is necessary now. Armor it is!
