Another week is halfway in the books. Another weekend is on the horizon. Another “Sip with us Saturday” is here. Before you know it, all the Christmas beers will be showing up: all the spiced, cranberried, and a plethora of others. Unlike the ubiquitous pumpkin beers, there will actually be some things for which we can anticipate.
We’re not quite there, however. In the meantime, I want to cling to the fading thoughts of summer but realize the fall is closing in all about us. In this stage, Warsteiner Dunkel seems to be a good choice. It’s still a lager, which creates an indelible summer impression. But it is also a darker lager, which gives the feel that the days are getting shorter and a dark winter beer will eventually be needed. So, let’s call this a summer to fall transition beer. I think most people will be able to find this one.

Will try to find a bottle or two. I missed out on last week’s SWUS due to being in the land of Cerveza (Mexico)!

Understandable. Good thing we are sticking with German beers, since Cerveza has it’s origin there. Glad you are rejoining us…I was worried that you left us.

Thanks, Mike. I haven’t left … just took a break for vacation. Glad to be back.
So … I guess the Warsteiner Dunkel must be popular right now. I went to my usual Beer Mecca (Bevmo) and the Warsteiner Dunkel was completely sold out. Maybe your SWUS is catching on …
As a completely different replacement, I bought Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale instead. Very good beer. You and I should tour the brewery here in CA sometime. Bring your wife up and we’ll make a weekend of it.
Go Colts …

I think maybe I’d like to do that some time for sure. If you want to post that review of the Sierra Nevada you are more than welcome. We want to get up that way at some point. We’ll keep that discussion in the works.

Sounds great, Mike. You guys have an open invite.
Thanks for the offer on the SN review. I’ll see what I can do.
Have a great week.
