If you have been following this blog for a while but have never put forth an effort to pick up our suggested beer of the week, do yourself a favor.  Drive out of your way.  Go that bottle shop in the neighboring subburb.  Call around.  Why?

This week we are going to be sipping together on Goose Island’s reserve beer, Matilda.  If you are not familiar with this brewery, I don’t blame you…they can be obscure.  In fact, I would rate the majority of their beers as “average,”  But they typicallly hit home runs with their speciaties.  I respect Goose Island (based out of Chicago) because they embarked on the craft brewery voyage in 1988 before microbrewing was as common as a cold.

Unfortunately, many of our subscribers who lurk in their feeders and rarely venture into the comboxes may not be able to get their hands on the sweet Matilda.  If this is the case, pick out your own Saturday beer, write a review, and w’ll post it on this site for you.
