Drink It With Us Friday | Burning River Pale Ale

This week’s beer is a local (nearly) favorite of mine.  It hales from the respectable and award winning Cleveland, Ohio brewery, Great Lakes Brewing Company.  If the name of this brewery stirs up savory memories, you may be recalling the week we tasted their ambrosial Nosferatu.

Burning River Pale Ale is truly moderately priced for the quality.  I’d wager you can pick up a six pack for about ten bucks.  Sounds pricey right?  If you consider that it takes the average person 45 minutes to down a brew, that’s 4.5 hours of enjoyment.  That’s astronmically cheaper than going out to a movie!

This Great Lake’s beer is named after the historic Cuyahoga River fire of 1969.  The river, laden with oily pollution combusted with flames reaching five stories high.  I am not sure I would name a beer I brewed after such a disgusting liquid, but hey…it works for this Cleveland brewery!

Expect a medium bodied ale, with lighter carbonation, and a delicate balance of hops.  Cheers!
